Yushaa and I went to IKEA @ Tampines. We walked around in the endless showroom bedrooms, walk-in wardrobes, day-bed sofas filled with fluffy pillows and funky room ideas! Planning our homes designs for the future.

We had dinner at the charming dinning booth with low lights. Swedish meatballs and chicken wings were the order for the day!*yummy

Thereafter, we proceeded down to level 1 and walked around till we found some vanilla and pear scented tealights and yummy raspberry biscuits and daim at the marketplace:)

Class reunions' are often highly anticipated...
For me, I was a lil' apprehensive having not seen everyone for a long time. But hey it wasn't too bad. Plus, Jocelyn's condo is pretty at night.

well forgive me readers, but today I'm in a particularly foul mood.

First, damn you roaches. make yourself scarce. or face the wrath of my deadly blows. you will NOT reside where I live. that is my promise.
For the record, a major pain of living on the second floor of a flat. :(

Secondly, Changi airport's Starbucks has made my day the most unpleasant experience at a coffee chain. The attitude and customer approach of some staff is appalling. I hope that it doesn't affect other foreigners' views on Singapore's service. Thankfully, Lydia spoke to the manager and at least our side of the story was heard by someone.

Now without contest- Coffee Bean is my first choice. I've always thought that Coffee Bean had better quality in terms of coffee and service.

I think Mel, Shen, Sha and Dawn can all attest to that statement, after all we are very sensible people...

Thirdly, being both an ex-staff at Pastamania and a diner now. I am disappointed by the quality of the pastas. The texture of a properly cooked pasta is simply un-deniable. al dente. Always the standards fluctuate with the sauces and pasta.
ah well... I love cooking my own pasta anyway so I'll have free reign over the ingredients and pasta done-ness:)

Peeves aside- I certainly hope I'll have time for some FUN this holidays!

Movies that are simply action-packed, complete withCGI effects are plenty in the market. But it is the rare gem, like a feel-good movie 'Under the Tuscan Sun' that makes the 2 hours of your time worthwhile...

Lovely scenes from beautiful Tuscany in Italy makeup the backdrop for this heartwarming movie, that speaks of wishes coming true amidst disappointments. It speaks of things that matter to one, friendship, love, a home, family and food. Something almost everyone can identify with.

Well besides living for the moment and waiting for that moment to happen. There's always planning ahead to make things happen and looking forward to that moment that makes for more to life!

Tripped down to Botanic Gardens near Tanglin.
Its been almost 6 years since I last stepped into the gardens.
Yes, I'm Singaporean. can you blame me?

Life in fact revolves around movies, shopping, eating, Internet, books and socialising. (not in any order) Rarely does one, really get in touch with nature. Unless you're part of a nature society, the Greenpeace movement or perhaps enjoying a tea party with Ms Peter:)

Well the skies did look kinda gloomy, but no rain. The suns' rays were weak and watery. But in the end we persevered on. Armed with no insect repellent, just water bottles, we ventured into the Botanic gardens.

The new section (info desk) seems like a resort lobby. Nice. But still reeked of squeakily, sparkly, new smells. Grabbed a copy of the map- had no intention of getting lost. Had a quick munch and off we went...

The forest paths beckoned. Many streams and trickling bodies of water, with little stepping stones. Saw some interesting flowering plants and tall towering trees. Beautiful green glades and a variety of trees that brought images of LOTR and exotic destinations to mind.

Sadly, most of my favourite ponds seemed groomed and well taken care of. Lily pads were scant with the occasional purple lily. No overgrowth of duckweeds floated aimlessly on the surface. Tadpoles, little fishes seem dominant.

Plenty of fishes-carp, koi in grey, black, orange and yellow swam in the lakes and ponds. Though I missed the swans. "Probably got culled off, with the bird flu episode."

A pretty and endearing sight that was most memorable, was one of a little brown squirrel munching on the fruits or a purple flowering tree. The little creature looked so adorable and cute, unaware of the gawping humans in the background.

Elegant statues dotted the gardens. One that I passed labelled 'JOY' showed a mother figure holding up a little baby who seemed to be squealing in delight. ah- the joys of motherhood!

The bonsai garden was a bit of a disappointment. The ones on display were few and looked almost similar, though varying in species. I suspect the more expensive sort could not be put on display should someone decide to cart it off.

Alot of the routes had quirky names and alot of the items had historical value or was donated by a certain someone. It was acknowledged almost everywhere.

Well, should one be interested in volunteering there. here

Here's my board game- designed for the Restroom Association of Singapore for my Creative Digital Art module. I guess its goodbye.
But I have digital memories of it still...

Aim: Create an interactive board game to teach primary school kids good toilet habits.

I'm just wondering...
I've spent 20 years on EARTH.
So what have I accomplished so far?
Has my life been fruitful? a waste or time? meaningless?
I don't know.

Studies.
I did my PSLE.OLevels. and now completing my diploma.
a somewhat normal route.

I have tried my hand at writing, emceeing, debating, Scrabble, netball, badminton, filming, art, dancing, kayaking, malay, chinese, and a lil' french.

Seen the world yet?
I have visited Pulau Ubin, Sentosa, Bali, Brunei, Singapore-duh.
Watched documentaries, travel logs, travel magazines.

Spiritually, somewhere in limbo now...
After leaving IHM, kinda drifted off... though making an effort to go to holy trinity every Sunday.

Love life: Zilch. na-da. except for the one or two mixed signals.

Friends: Plenty of accquaintances, few good friends.

Come to think of it. despite all the assorted certs accumulated in school and all the CCA points jazz. I can't really think of any ONE thing I did that I can really be proud of. And that is kinda sad...

Maybe, I just overlook the simple things. Or maybe I have high standards. Either way I look at it, it seems that after my poly dip. I'll go into PR or advertising and end up caught in the corporate race up the ladder...
Probably do a part-time/ full-time degree in Media& Comm.

Joe Augustin might have prompted my sudden analysis of my life and interests.
He gave a 'radio' related talk the other day, where he related his experiences and the importance of finding out what one is really good at. It was a most invaluable insight. And it has been bothering me ever since.

Well it is a true fact that the world revolves around money. Not just love and fresh air. If you have money, you have power to make things happen. And that is the bottomline.

What he said was mainly, that one should try everything out and choose something to focus on and work on it. By specialising in that area you can become indispensable and wanted.(ie. head-hunted by corporations)

He talked about personal branding and how it too is important. The way you market yourself and make yourself known amongst people. Its a way of getting more job opportunities.

Lastly, making use of the internet. Do not wait for your dream job to fall into place. Make it happen. Make yourself known. And network.

Now that's plenty food for thought!
