Singapore Idol the finals at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night was terrific.
It's way better than watching from home!
We all supported Hady coz' he's the natural choice, though Jonathan's pretty good too.
Jem got the tickets for us! yaY-thanks!
Though Yushaa didn't go in the end.

So it ended up the sisterly outing- Elina & Juliana. Me & Tiff.
And the 2 boys, Andrew and Jem.
From the side seats that we got I couldn't really see the singers but I enjoyed the music and the brilliant back-up dancers! They kept spinning around with a street jazz feel.

Taufik looks better now. More mature with a cute goatee.
He almost stole the show again.haha.
Energy who's band number has dwindled from a 5 guy band to 3 now, performed a number too. oh And Electrico was smashing!
The bong-bong clappers were fun! Enjoyed bonging people left and right. Oops! Sorry Tiff, you had to endure it the whole way.

Some people were just sitting there stagnant the entire concert!
I figured they must be
a) bored
b) tired
c) uninterested

sheesh. stay at home and watch la!

Apparently some people spend lots of money smsing to ensure the right singer represents Singapore. A lecturer even spent about $100! whoa. Can't wait for the next season of So you think you can dance!:D

As the holidays draw to an end...
And the IMF ends...
A students' life resumes again...

I'm glad the IMF ended early. I have time to meet with with old friends and discover new friendships.

Re-discovering the joy of retail therapy..heehee.
why, Shopping.of course!

Cleaning out the old notes from previous semester in my drawer , to make way for new notes *aahhahchooo!

Re-discovering the joy of music...
Elina's and Yushaa's taste for the other kind of music.(ie.HIM, Muse, metal music...) there are a few gems in their selection:)
And dear Faiz re-introduced me to the joys of the piano/keyboard.
Which finally prompted me to get a CASIO keyboard!:D

Meeting Leon's new gf!- Pei Yu.
A wonderful girl. Treasure her Leon! She's a gem!

Finally getting my pay from Rasa Sentosa, which was quite a hassle.
Bumping into Farid who's working at the Sentosa! *thanks!

Alas, all good things must come to an end.

*This semster's schedule is the best so far!
And I got the gems I wanted!~ Real estate valuation
Only TWO 8 am classes!
Translates to: more sleep= less falling asleep in lectures= better results (i hope!)

The past few days have been pretty interesting.
Meeting journalists, senators and people from the finance boards.
and the occasional ungrateful Singaporean.
Somehow I always notice that Singaporeans who come to the counter for directions never listen. They hear only what they wish to hear and complete the rest.
Senario 1:
Educated looking man approaches counter shouting " Garuda! Garuda!"
So Jasmine tells him " Garuda Airlines is in Terminal 1 sir." Then he runs off in a huff.
LATER, he comes back to exert his authority!
" What? You told me it was in Terminal 2. I drove all the way to T2 and came back. If you don't know, say don't know. Highly incompetent!" and storms off.
*restrains colleague from letting out a string of #$%@#
While waiting at the arrival belt for his friend or relative to arrive, he turns to a couple and starts rattling off about how incompetent we are and couple turns to stare at the 'highly competent' info desk.

My sole advice to Mr Know-it-all is to LISTEN!

My counter comprises of mainly:
the mindef guys-Darryl & Willip
the inseperable duo: Jasmine (Anthony's sister) & Qian Lin
V for vincent and the other CSEs.

Most of the delegates were pretty understanding and friendly.
There was this delegate from Senegal-Africa who was waiting for a friend, we chatted for almost half and hour. For a minute I would exhuast my knowledge about Singapore. He asked everything from dialects to pronounciations, and the size of Singapore.

Met Cedric at the airport. Hmm. he works there!

Popeyes is pretty good. Love the whipped potato and the coselaw!
The biscuits are actually scone-thingy, pretty munchy and tastes great with the jam.
The staff canteen's kway chap, hokkien mee and cai fan is good.

The MIX concept is from HK and they have good juices and wrapps.
They've got an outlet in T1, transit and Raffles city basement.
Tried the detox juice- cucumber, wheatgrass, apple and carrot.
3 sizes: wee, wow & whoa.
haha!

thinking of signing up for Real estate valuation for gems.

I want a keyboard.
1 more week till school reopens!

Was at Sentosa most of my Sunday when April called me at 10am informing me of a job opening at Rasa Sentosa for the Barclays Singapore Open.( for the unaccquainted=GOLF) In which golfers play to win a cool US$3million and the trophy.

I had to cab down to Sentosa since I was late. Cost me a whopping $16 bucks! Not including entry!

I had to wear a yellow cheong sam top and court shoes-the sort that a chiropodist would tsk at! Nearly slipped twice on the makeshift cafe's floor. It was a pretty nice one with a great view of the golf course. In fact when Adam Scott( he won!) made that crucial move we had a really great view.
My job was to clear plates and serve the guests drinks.
The weather was kinda horrible, kept raining, meaning wet people crowded into the cafe. We were already running around madly.
To top it off, yes, the shoes weren't helping.
7 hours later, we packed up which meant packing and loading the stuff into a truck and back to the hotel we went.
Met Jesher and his loyal troopers- Pei Ling, Louisa...had the staff dinner there with Christina, boy was I hungry, then I realised hadn't eaten all day.haha!

Won't be paid till next week. I have to go back to Sentosa to collect it. great. Lost my court shoes at the hotel so I bought new ones.

The IMF duties at the Dep and Arrival has been okay so far.
I think it'll definitely be more interesting in the transit area.
Made a couple new friends from Mindef and SP ambassadors.
Delegates are coming in slowly...in trickles.
Expecting more soon!
hope they enjoy Singapore.
tired.
Night all!

Past few days.. was a whirlwind of activities.
Mum came down to Singapore and so, we stayed over at Hotel Grand Central with her.
She did her purchases from her suppliers and we ATE. ate. ATE.
She missed the food here. NOthing beats Singapore food!
haha!
Brother Mal brought us to Din Tai Fung to eat the dumplings! I love the dumplings especially the red bean ones! So yummy!
And I love the Taiwainese chinese accent that the waiter has. I could listen to him talk all day;)

My stomach which decided to go on a rebellious strike gave me the runs! Stubbornly I refused to give in, popped some charcoal pills & Imodium and ate everything.
Nasi padang. Kwat chap. Black chicken herbal soups.
hmm...

Mum loves ballroom dancing so me and lil' sister tagged along.
We went to the First Generation dancing place somewhere in town.
haha~tried to learn some rock & roll steps from mum.
Then this Taiwanese lady came up and danced with me.
It was so FUN.
Unbelievable.
Twirling and dancing.
She led the way and I followed.
Me thinks she's definitely a dance instructor!
Tiff was laughing hysterically from the sidelines! but I got the final laugh. Cos' she missed out on the fun.

Could consider ballroom dancing maybe...

Anyway, the street jazz classes I signed up for has been postponed to November coz' Ms Kathleen Ng the dance instructor has a hip problem.

Brought Yushaa to the Pizza Place to eat PIZZA of course!
And the delicious, generous Seafood Pasta that creamy and cheesy:)

Poor Faiz and his ulcer!
He definitely ate less than me.

Yushaa needed to get a present for a lil' someone, who seems to have a certain interest in her. haha. She on the other hand is having conflicting emotions about the person in question.

poor dear.

So we scoured the shops, looking for inspiration.
And after much deliberation decided on Mrs Fields- chocolate fudge brownie cake!! YUm!

Muah on the other hand, got my hands on Neil Humphrey the quirky ang moh's latest and FINAL book about his adventures in Singapore-
"Final notes from a great island" bought the book at MPH for about $11.
-so affordable huh?
I love his columns on TODAY newspaper and he is also a lecturer to lucky TP-media & comm students.

Am in the midst of A Time Travellers' Wife.
hmmm... pretty good book.
Interesting perspectives and storyline.
Gist is about Henry who time travels to the past and future and also narrates from the perspective of his wife who has to go through his disppearing time travel acts which happen sudddenly. Poor wife.

Ah, the bathroom is free now!
