ah...how beautiful and splendid poetry is. Soothes the soul and paints a thousand pictures so vividly.

The Enkindled Spring
by David Herbert Lawrence
This spring as it comes bursts up in bonfires green,
Wild puffing of emerald trees, and flame-filled bushes,
Thorn-blossom lifting in wreaths of smoke between
Where the wood fumes up, and the flickering, watery rushes.

I am amazed at this spring, this conflagration
Of green fires lit on the soil of the earth, this blaze
Of growing, these sparks that puff in wild gyration,
Faces of people streaming across my gaze.

And I, what fountain of fire am I among
This leaping combustion of spring? My spirit is tossed
About like a shadow buffeted in the throng
Of flames, a shadow that's gone astray, and is lost.

So we were desperate to get a chalet and booked the changi village flat. It was last minute, and the place was kinda old.
At least it looked better with the tea-light candles & potpurri that Yushaa placed at corners.
The lovely brithday girl who finally turns 18.....Elina!

Very gorgeous.

Dinner was spaghetti meatballs in 2 types of pastas- fusilli & spaghetti.
D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

Dominic started off nibbling lettuce! While we were slurping noodles. Finally, we got him to try the spaghetti. I'm pretty sure he didn't regret it!

Just chillin.

Yi hong by the way, was in his expensive outfit (Link pants)- that he was just absolutely terrified of spilling pasta sauce on.

Some ppl just got high.
haha.

awww.... it's so sweet.

Playing card games.

So we had a "few" bottles of drinks in the fridge.
And people got drunk. And I saw some tranvestites from our flat corridor's balcony. I drank. Tried a lychee martini Jem made..hmmm. not too bad at all & Grease music is fun to dance to!! haha. Watched Friends in the morning, ate cold spaghetti which tasted just as good as last night. Zonked out when I came home.
The telephone man, didn't show up in the end. But the jinxed telephone line suddenly came back to life.
* ah it was enlightening & fun!

This post is long overdue I know. My fault.

Went over to Dominic's house on Wed, to makan!
Big group of us! about 10 of US!

His mum can sure whip up a good spread!
We had popiah, mee siam, mee rebus, mashed potato and chicken!
And an absolutely addictive fruit punch.
The drink really packs a punch, with cut lime and oranges, a dash oforange liquer and cordial. YuM! deliciously thirst quenching.

A real pity I had to leave early before the party really started cause'
I had hip hop class... oh wells. I know you guys had lots of fun!(:

Vali, me, Yushaa & Dominic were at the NEWater plant, under the pretext of completing a school project. ha.
The sky threatened to rain but in the end it didn't!

We had a friendly tour guide Eric who brought us around the depths of the NEWater cavern!
haha.

Presenting the one Millionth bottle of NEWater...
In Gold wrapper..haha.

Fact of the day: Did you know that Singapore uses 300million gallons of water a day? That's equivalent to 600 olympic-sized swimming pools!

Need a pee? Do it the Yushaa way. In public view!;)
If you gotta go, you'd better go!
ssshhh...don't tell anyone.

Caught sight of this forlorn looking bin in the longkang next to Expo!

On the train, homeward bound...

Working in a restaurant like Sizzler has made me more aware about few things about dining & ettiqutte. SO let me Vent all my PET peeves!

1. Sometimes adults make even BIGgeR mess than kids at the table.

2. People who call you "hey!", "oi!" or "uh!" do not deserve my 100% attention. Human beings should be treated with respect!

3. Please do not over-eat at the buffet and vomit it at the table. It's quite disgusting to clean up.

4. Singaporeans have an uncanny behaviour of drinking coffee via the soup bowl to save $$! what the??

5. An article in the Sunday Times, highlighted the fact that some eateries are charging for water. We don't, so people abuse it all the time. I can assure you that carrying 12 glasses of ice water isn't an easy feat.

6. NOw this is well known fact: when there's a buffet people Always take mORe than they can finish. WHile millions of kids starve & suffer malnutrition, we blatantly throw good food out the window!
My point: take less and go for seconds! The extra few steps won't kill, you might even shed a few pounds.

7. Tip us if you think we deserve it!

8. Don't be fussy & speak to us nicely.

9. Fickle-minded people drive me nuts. Place your order when you've decided.

10. Don't order a medium steak if you don't want to see any blood.

----and I feel a whole lot better once I've got it out off my system.

DID you know how MILKSHAKES were invented????

Healthful or hedonistic, milkshakes are an American classic. We love them rich and thick, and chocolate's the biggest seller -- but new varieties, odd combos and fresh fruit flavors all are gaining appeal.
Yes, it starts with that funky red cherry. You know you shouldn't, but . . . oh . . . why not?
Beneath it comes a drift of snowy whipped cream. All right -- one spoonful, you swear, no more -- but by then you've managed to dig into that sweet sea of icy ambrosia.
From then on, you're a goner -- right down to that last searching, self-conscious but soul-satisfying slurp.
Mmmm. . . . How could you resist?
You're hardly the first. The same thing's been happening since 1874 when a Philadelphia concessionaire ran out of the cream he was whisking into sodas. Frantic, he scrambled for a substitute. Settling on vanilla ice cream, he meant to melt the stuff but impatient patrons wouldn't wait. He plopped dollops into his sodas and -- what?! -- the customers loved it.
Introducing (drum roll) the father of (ta da!) the milkshake.

P.S: Besides Mc Donalds. I think that Billy Bombers has the best milkshakes, my favourite: Cookies & Cream!
