Went to the SPH Print Centre, it was AWESOME. The printing machines were huge and the machines could go up to like 40,000 revolutions an hour. So happened that the New Paper was being printed and so we all got a copy HOT off the press! Cool or what?! We also got this really cute SPH ring notebook, I love notebooks. So we saw the printing process the final copy clipped itself onto the pegs and off it went like those ski lifts into another room, so amazing. Almost everthing was automated and I learnt something too! The gigantic toilet rolls used for printing the newspaper are actually mostly PURE virgin pulp and not as we all think recycled paper, beacuse it doesn't tear as easily and cause delays:)
Great guess what, today Melissa and I were supposed to go down to complete our CIP hours so I waited for Melissa to finish her CC test, we rushed to Blk 134 in Ang Mo Kio Ave3, took us like about 15minutes of walking from the MRT to find the place and by then it was already 4.30pm. Guess what?! They were closing in half and hour?! Sorry you've come too late... WonderfuL! So the person in-charge says" there's actually an outlet in Clementi.." whatever... Melissa still had to get her stamps from the Scouts HQ. So we get the number from dialing 100, and then called them nearly 3 times to enquire. Feeling very hot and flustered we bought some grape flavoured ice-cream with a medicinal taste,eww... but quite refreshing.Ooh! Met Larry, Melissa's friend he's really nice, very "stylo" is my only discription:) yes, we did finally get the stamps. Phew, what a day! My tag board is feeling a little lonely... Do add your comment after reading my blog, whatever it is..Thanks:)

Friday Night
Saturday, August 27, 2005 ; 1:38 PM

Went out with Yushaa and Jem on Friday night. It's been quite some time since we met up. First we met at Bugis to buy my bag from Bugis street, it's really quite a bargain at $14. My school bag received smarting comments from "fashionable" Jem: ( After that we went to Orchard, walked around looking for a pair of jeans for Yushaa. Stomach started growling so we went to the Foodcourt at Takashimaya's basement to eat. Queued up for over 10minutes to get the Omu omelette noodle that Elina had good praises about. Hmm... I t was okay, tasted Korean sauces, I think it’s a bit like instant noodles... Yushaa didn't exactly dig it... oh well.. We went to Top Shop after that. We tried on clothes but again Yushaa couldn't find something suitable and tried to check out Levi but alas' it had already closed and it was only 9pm! Finally, we decided to try Zara. The changing room was pretty nice. But it was crowded... Jem went around trying all the hats. He's having a fetish for hats right now:) Ha. Finally met Sandy, at City Hall, Lydia was beaming from ear to ear :P Trying to teach Jem the gentlemanly way of shaking hands on the MRT. Went home feeling quite satisfied.

CYA
Wednesday, August 24, 2005 ; 1:18 PM

It was out of goodwill, better thank me Wei Jie for replacing you on monday:) It was and still is interesting and fun working at Changi airport T2, I was at the East counter. It's pretty busy there at night. When I first arrived at the counter I noticed the constant flow of pax with queries. Tried to help, but obviously needed a little orientation, beacuse I kept consulting my map which was confusing to read sometimes. Olivia and Murti was my CSOs. They are really nice. Murti had a really convincing Tamil accent it was hilairious! Olivia's a Lit graduate, speaks 4 languages: Japanese, french, chinese and english. wow! Met 2 seniors Gallen and the eurasian but looking like chinese guy- Du'preet Nigel Troy. It says under race: Anglo-chinese. hmmm....interesting heritage dontcha think so? Took 53 back home....'yawn'

Che Che Pam's café's really neat, it's sooo cosy and nice. The coloured beads that hand from the ceiling add a bohemian feel to it. The mirror wall also creates an illusion of spaciousness. It's called Airlines café and it sells coffee and western cuisines. A must try is the hippo pie. On the whole it has a nice ambience and isn't too expensively priced:)
Just in case you want to know where it is it's opposite Maxwell market and the Scarlet hotel.

On my way to school this morning, I noticed as I walked through the carpark to the business block that the signage for foodcourt 6 at the corss-junction was pointing in the opposite direction of the school of business. We all know that foodcourt 6 IS at the school of business. Obviously, there’s some error.

Chocolate, Yum:)
; 10:41 AM

Went to watch Charlie & the chocolate factory... A teeny bit dissppointed, I didn't see enough chocolate, maybe I expected more out of the movie. I guess I had someething out of my childhood imagination, after reading that book by Roald Dahl a decade ago. Johnny Depp(Willy Wonka) seemed pretty scary. To me, he was weird. I guess that happens to you after not being in contact with 'normal' people(not including e Ompaa Loompas) for a number of years. The few musical scences were pretty entertaining. A must-watch I feel for all Roald Dahl fans, like me :)

I just feel so frustrated with my life.... In school, it's like I'm like caged and obliged. I really, really feel like tearing my hair out. It's also really sad to see the other side of someone else.... something that you didn't expect or want to see. I wish if I could re-wind time, I would do some things differently, I guess at some point in life everyone feels that way. ...................................

Mite Alert!
Monday, August 08, 2005 ; 10:36 AM

This morning on the MRT it was really packed. I was squashed literally and next to me there was a guy carrying a rather tattered haversack. He was facing the opposite direction and infront of him was a lady with her back to him as well. Being packed so close, I could only examine his bag and guess what?! His bag was infested with tiny whitish-brown mites. They were crawling happily on his bag and exploring the bag, waving their tiny feelers in the air. I seriously freaked out, plus we were close range. I leaned away, please don't lean your bag near me... was all I could think about. The disgusting thing was the mites proceeded to crawl onto the lady infront. aahhh! But apparently the mites didn't like leather bags. Phew! But still it was kinda gross. To everyone out there, please don't bring infested bags around, it's pretty unhygenic:D ta-ta...

CYA Camp
Sunday, August 07, 2005 ; 9:22 PM

The CYA(changi youth ambassador) camp was held this weekend. It was kinda fun compared to some other camps. The night walks were the highlights of the camp. We had 2 night walks and it was really fun walking in the dark, unknown at night when everything seems to blend into deep shadows that never seem to end. It was really dark at some places and it was suffocating at times. It didn't help that our seniors kept telling us creepy stories. The first night was more like a treasure hunt night walk, find as many lightstick rings, avoid certain segments of the campus and keep together as a group. We had to go into hiding at times when the "angels" or "demons" were around we didn't know whether they would help or 'tekkan' us so we tried avoid any contact with the 'SPSU' people. The second night was more like a scary night walk. The girls left in pairs starting at about 2am, I was one of the second last pairs, Jade and I set off at at about 4.30am,I think. We had no handphone, no flashlight or lightsticks. In other words reliant on the moon and stars for light. Thankfully, we bumped into another guy who was lost, so we shouldered on, through all the hideous screams and marbles... Our journey consisted of the business block, MLT2 and all the way to FoOdcourt1. Did I scream? well no, but I was scared?well maybe sometimes. Pretty exciting stuff, but no paranormal encounters :D

NDOC
Thursday, August 04, 2005 ; 2:54 PM

National Day Obeservance Ceremony... so that was what we were supposed to perform for- National Day. I had to go do a little shopping because I don't really stock up on white clothes. We had a burger and a lemon tea drink while waiting. Seriously, sweating because we practised twice before the guest of honour arrived. Feeling not too nervous I think it's because we did it twice already infront of the audience. Though at parts of the performance I did have nervous fits. I really had to concentrate on controlling my uncontrollable shivering hand. I had to put on a perpetual smile:D It wasn't too bad...made it! Save for some mess-ups..Hope Daniel wasn't amidst the spectators.

Changi Airport Training....
Monday, August 01, 2005 ; 11:39 AM

We were so lucky we got to use the recreation club's dance studio for our training. Aneeta and Ana maria were out trainers who actually are also our CSOs in the ariport customer service section. They were really friendly, bubbly and funny. Learnt alot form them and enjoyed myslef the 2 days we spent there. I was assigned to do my duties on Saturday mornings 9am-1pm, so that really ROCKS totally. Even if it means waking up early on Saturday mornings:) But to wear a RED vest?? With the words emblazoned on the back CHANGI YOUTH AMBASSADOR, was a bit intimidating. The walk-abouts at T1 and T2 was quite interesting if we didn't have to spend half the time scribbling notes on the map. There were so many landmarks and things to remember I don't think I got it all down. Role-play was quite fun, even if I had to play the vomitting old lady, the other groups were pretty funny. I heard the staff foodcourt at T1 has the best food and soya bean. Haha, lucky me. But too bad I don't work on Tuesdays coz' there's a Gelare cafe in T1. awww....
