Almost French
Friday, August 25, 2006 ; 10:12 PM

Finally caught up with some movies,
Hellboy and Nanny McPhee.

and
got started reading again.
Almost French is a lovely non-fiction book based on a freelance Australian journalist- Sarah Turnbull's life in France.
She got to know a charming french guy, Frederic and decided to move there. The lucky girl, he cooked splendid dinners for her. She dined at lil' cafes, ate cheese and wine. Visited the Lourve museum! He brought her for lots of social events like cocktail parties and dinners. Most which she just became an armchair because communication was quite a barrier and the culture is different.
In the end she decided to stay on in France which is a really brave thing to do, since she didn't have a job.
It doesn't just paint the nice, rosy picture beacause in reality it's not about getting swooped away romanced by some charming french guy.
Ah-yes. But I do believe it has a happy ending... later:)

Things I've learnt...
French people are exceptionally affectionate!
Two-pecks on the cheek and such. ma petite, ma poulette
French are proud of their heritage and language,
I love the way it's spoken, so poetic and beautiful.
They are Arty people.
Their meals are eaten in moderate portions and they lay their tables!
that's the good stuff.
the not so nice stuff I shall refrain from mentioning....

Dreaming of a new day ahead!;
Just making my way through the crowd

The Seeker
Phoebe. Phoebs.
whichever, I don't mind.
Just don't mangle my name;)
Blur.Eccentric.happy.friendly- Me:D

Maybe she's a little different
Maybe she doesn't care
Or maybe its just you.

Loves
Strawberries any berries!
Good music
Books,comics,magazines
Rain that drizzles
The botanic gardens
Happy colours
Musicals & acapella performances
